Premiere: SOMATIC TRATATA - Rhythm, Rupture and Romance
SOMATIC TRATATA is a contemporary performative ritual combining dance and live music: a dance concert of two bodies exploring states of being moved through voice, breath, movement and affect. An unusual encounter that embraces diversity and limits of corporal expression by challenging couple stereotypes/archetypes in the context of tradition and folk culture (South Italian and Alpine). Inspired by trance traditions like the South Italian Tarantism and Self-Induced Cognitive Trance, the duet stays in touch with the invisible, revealing the space in-between you and me while diving into an unknown where identities no longer exist. A wild and homorous ride of two bodies testing their boundaries while trying to communicate.
